Well Happy Canada Day travellers. We hope you have had a wonderful spring and summer is starting off with a bang with all the festivities. There are festivals and celebrations going all around us today. Canada is a young 150.
The United States will be busy celebrating it's independence on Tuesday, although we have heard through the travellers grapevine the parties, picnics and celebrations are turning into four day bonanzas. But isn't that what the summer is for? Good friends, good food, some libations and lots of laughter. There just isn't enough laughter in the world is there.
If you have been following the news out of Apple Headquarters then you are aware of the changes coming with the iOS 11 updates. If you have favourite apps which haven't been updated to a more recent platform they will start to disappear from the appstore. Apple has figured out a way to pare the store down so up to date apps can be found and the older unused orphan apps won't clutter the space. But you have no worries about our SIMPLY DECLARE TRAVEL APPS disappearing. We are all good!
We are up to date and promise you no inconveniences with either the FREE or the PRO version. In fact, we are busy waiting for the Beta testing of iOS 11 to be complete so we can update it again or you.
We want to give a big shout out to our users. June 2017 was the best month for downloads ever. We are being found and people are appreciating the simple way for them to monitor their spending and figuring out an easy way to calculate their declarations for their country's custom agents. So keep telling your friends, family and travellers you run into about our special little travel tool.
Enjoy your summer of fun and travel safe. Drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or suggestions about future features. Also, take a minute and help us by giving a review in the Appstore.
Whats coming for 2017?
It's been a fabulous year for the family of Simply Declare Travel Apps
The new iOS 10 verions are ready to send in for approval from Apple, and they should be ready for download in early January. There are no changes to the design, just some minor tweeking behind the scenes. I know most people with ipads have updated their platforms, but they're still not flipping their iphones over until Apple fixes some of the battery usage issues they have. I am assured they are working on it and a fix is just around the corner.
There is still time to vote for Simply Declare Travel App Free at bestmobileappsawards.com
We were thrilled to be nominated as a Silver Nominee, but we truly need your help to get the final push to win the award. Apps are so competitive, our little indie app needs lots of help.
Okay, so this is the last message for the year. We at Simply Declare wish you a very happy and healthy holiday season. Travel Sale and don't forget to download Simply Declare before you leave home
Where did the summer go? It's hard to believe our summer fun is coming to an end and time for all of us to hunker down to our routines of the upcoming fall and winter. With the Labour Day Long Weekend approaching this is the last time for many Canadians and Americans to do a little cross border shopping.
The Canadians head south to find products and textiles not readily available to them, and the Americans head north to shop with their powerful US Greenback. But no matter which way you are traveling there is not better time than now to download Simply Declare to track your purchase for Customs. If you are a Canadian you need to know what you have bought in real time currency to make sure you don't go over your allowable amounts. And Americans can use the handy currency function to see just how much more you can spend on the north side of the border.
Simply Declare has gained many new followers and we are pleased the new design has been so well received. There will be a new upcoming iOS update, but we are pleased to announce there will be no changes to the design and the features of either the FREE or PRO version. We have gotten great reviews about the new look and functionality, but please take a moment and add more in the Appstore. As an indie app your reviews are so important to help get the app out into the marketplace.
We also want to put send a shoutout to a new site on the web built for the Snowbird. thesnowbirdsite.com is becoming the go-to resource for living the lifestyle of the snowbird. Now, snowbirds aren't primarily from other countries, as many come from the north states and head south for the winter, but we are pleased to have Simply Declare featured on the website because of the number of snowbirds from Canada.
Check out thesnowbirdsite.com and add yourself to their mailing list.
Official Summer Travel Season is here
Well, we have all survived the cold winter months and now it's the start of the summer travel season. With the Canadian Victoria Day long weekend upon us, and the US Memorial Day holiday just a week away, people are either already traveling or busy making arrangements for the summer.
The Spring has been fabulous for Simply Declare. The new version's look and added features have been warmly received and we are receiving great reviews in the App Store. There have also been a few notable reviews done and we have made a few exciting "best" lists. We knew going into the app space was going to be competitive, so we're very pleased we are being found and loved by those who matter; you the traveler.
Now, if you are cross border shopping this weekend, don't forget to download Simply Declare. We got a review yesterday on the App Store and they would have liked to see the opening page have what they had spent, instead of the amount left to spend. If you go to your list page in the settings you will be able to see what you have spent to help you fill out your declarations forms. Sorry, but this is the only way to make the app work, because if you upgrade to the individual list feature on the PRO app, it's the only way to make the database work for those users.
Okay, so everyone have a fabulous long weekend, enjoy your time with your family and friends, and be safe. If you have a couple of minutes please leave a review on the App Store, for either the FREE or PRO version. If you have some comments and suggestions please drop us a line at email@example.com We always love hearing from our users.
Simply Declare has gone through a major design change and its available for download as of today. We have changed the design to become more minimalistic and give you a more intuitive tool for helping you calculate your declarable purchases.
This new design will also allow us to add more features easily so we can keep our product growing. We know you have come to appreciate how easy it is to make sure you are within your limits.
We hope you love the new design, and please we always want to have your feedback. If you have some thoughts about other changes or suggestions please reach out to us via our contact page.
If you love the new design please take a minute and rate our app in the App Store and tell your friends about this handy travel essential tool for all world travelers.
Happy fall to everyone. The summer travel season is over and we hope everyone has had wonderful and safe trips and experiences. We are getting ready at Simply Declare to redesign both the paid and the free version of the apps, with the new iOS9 look and feel. This will be the most radical change to the apps since it hit the market in 2012.
There will be a couple of new features, but mainly the workflow of the app will be changed to make Simply Declare more intuitive for you to enter in your items or if you have upgraded to the full version with all features to get to the Notepad and Currency Converter. We are always trying to bring you new features and we listen to you the user for what will make Simply Declare even better than before.
Thank you for making Simply Declare one of your go to travel apps, and I hope you will like Version 6.0
As travel gets its official start this summer season, I have been asked about whether Simply Declare can track the V.A.T. for remitting purposes. Well, there is no specific mechanism for this applications, but if you do download the paid version, you just need to add the feature for Individual Lists. Simply then create a "User" of VAT and as you purchases your goodies set aside the VAT amounts and see where you are in value. Perhaps there isn't enough there to be bothered with going through the paperwork hassles for remitting. Please remember, each country you are visiting has it's own set of rules for remitting and reporting, so be sure to keep your original receipts.
Hope everyone has a Fabulous Travel Season!
